BENEFITS: Polynesians use this amazing skin healing agent for a wide range of aliments from how to get rid of acne fast, acne scars, general scarring, eczema, age spots and other skin blemishes to topical uclers, sunburn, cramping, psoriasis, inflammation through to the relief of muscular pain, neuralgia, sciatica, rheumatism and a multitude of troublesome skin conditions.Where modern medicine fails, traditional health remedies have much to offer.
Tamanu oil is a remarkable topical healing agent with skin healing, antineuralgic, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antibiotic, and antioxidant properties. The tamanu tree is indigenous to tropical Southeast Asia; it is found in Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, Malaysia, South India, Sri Lanka, and the Melanesian and Hawaiian/Polynesian islands. It grows up to three meters tall, sporting cracked, black bark and elliptical, shiny leaves. The tamanu tree blooms twice annually with fragrant, white flowers, which later yield clusters of yellow-skinned spherical fruit. The fruit’s pulp tastes similar to an apple, within which a large nut is embedded
Our Tamanu Oil is 100% all-natural and chemical free. It is made from an exotic fruit from the Tamanu tree that flourishes in the south pacific islands of Polynesia, due to the volcanic atmosphere. Volcanoes have a deeply beneficial effect to the surrounding soil. The Volcanic ash contains minerals that are wondrous to plants and provide nutrients to the soil. Due to this very reason, the Tamanu oil originating from Polynesia contain the most nutritional value.
So how does this super-oil get extracted from the exotic fruit? First of all, the Tamanu fruit starts off green, then turns to a yellowish color, to a dried brown fruit and naturally falls off the branch. The dried fruit is then collected and a nut is extracted from the fruit. Then this nut is left out to dry for two months out in the sun. After it’s dried out, it’s then cold pressed to extract only a few drops of oil per nut. This process of cold pressing gives the oil it’s best value, as it retains all the good nutrients.
It takes a lot of kernels to produce a small amount of oil. In fact, it takes an entire tree to produce only 5 liters of Tamanu oil. As you can tell, it takes a very long time to produce a decent amount of oil, because of the amount of kernels required and the time to process them. Because of this very reason, the Tamanu oil is very sacred and very limited.
This sticky oil is cold-pressed to make a greenish yellow oil. It takes 100 kilograms of tamanu fruit, the amount that one tree produces annually, to yield just 5 kilograms of cold pressed oil! Natives believed the tamanu tree was a sacred gift of nature and that gods hid in its branches. It was their answer to skin protection from hot sun, high humidity and ocean wind.
Our Tamanu oil is 100% Natural & Eco friendly. It is Fragrance & Paraben free, hypoallergenic, anti-septic, and has antibacterial properties.
WHAT IS TAMANU OIL GOOD FOR?
Tamanu Oil benefits extend to a wide range of natural treatments for acne and acne scars, eczema, psoriasis, toenail fungus, stretch marks, age spots, skin rashes, general scarring, dermatitis through to anti aging and as an ingredient in making good skin products for oily skin. In fact, one of the major benefits of Tamanu Oil is that it can be used as a stand-alone product, whether it be solely as a product for oily acne skin or for the prevention or reduction of scarring or just for beautiful, blemish-free skin. Not only can you use Tamanu Oil for skin rejuvenation but you can even use Tamanu Oil for hair as well.
While there are those self-proclaimed “Acne Specialists” that think that using Tamanu Oil for acne goes against the whole “products for oily skin and acne” industry, they really don’t know what they are talking about. In almost every case, they have never even heard of Tamanu Oil let alone used it. They are too busy pushing chemical-based oily face products as they get a commission on sales. When you say “well, Dr Oz featured Tamanu Oil as the # 1 Natural Acne Treatment in the world” they try to make out they know more about acne than Dr Oz does. These are people with no real academic training and they are often part of the problem and most certainly are seldom the solution. So just because Tamanu Oil is an oil does not mean that it is not a product for oily acne skin.
There have been various studies on Tamanu Oil uses and it is clear that its extraordinary properties for healing damaged skin are not only incredible but unique. It is used topically (directly onto the skin) and/or as a skin care ingredient as in some of our cosmetic formulations below. Pure Tamanu Oil works very effectively as a natural treatment for psoriasis, especially for large scale psoriasis.
